Cryotherapy, the power of cold
Cold mission, indeed very cold. Challenging low, indeed very low, temperatures to slow down skin aging and, according to recent studies, also to improve the quality of sleep and mood.
It is cryotherapy , that is, taking advantage of the cold
and its benefits for beauty and therapeutic purposes. And it's a short step
from in-cabin to in-home treatment.
Cryotherapy, treatment
There are many stars who rely on low temperatures to give
their body a boost, among others Jessica Alba, Jessica Stam and Jennifer
Aniston but also Chiara Ferragni who was immortalized during her first session.
But how does the treatment work? Mainly there are two
alternatives: the cryocabin allows total immersion while cryosauna is a
cylinder from which the head comes out while the body is immersed at a
temperature ranging from -120 ° to -160 °, even if -15 ° is perceived. . The
cold acts on the body on several fronts: at the epidermal level it stimulates
the production of collagen , thus slowing down aging but also counteracting the
orange peel .
It also stimulates the metabolism, burns up to 500 calories
per session, and the endorphins therefore positively influence mood. To be
performed for a maximum of 15 minutes and no more than 3 times a week, the
session is followed by an aerobic activity of 15 minutes to warm up and get the
body going.
Ice effect at home
But, apart from the treatment in the cabin, the cold is an
excellent ally and a product of this type can be easily introduced into one's
routine, without having to wait for the summer. Most of the products with the
ice effect are mainly anti-cellulite and face creams .
How do they work? The former stimulate local blood
circulation thus slowly reducing the orange peel; face products, on the other
hand, act both as skin firming but also as anti-fatigue for bags and dark
circles . The cold effect is obtained thanks to some ingredients such as gotu
kola, blueberry, sweet clover and butcher's broom that gradually release this
sensation so as to cool down, decongest and stimulate circulation.
